Creative analytics tools for Meta ads, compared (2026)

Disclosure, up front rather than in the footer: this page is published by HypeCrowd, which is one of the tools in the category. We have put ourselves last, we have written our own entry the way a sceptic would, and there is a section near the bottom listing where we lose.

We read six of the pages currently ranking for this search before writing. Five of the six put their own product at number one and none of them says on the page that they own it. Not one of the six links a single price to the vendor's own pricing page. That is a low bar and this page tries to clear it.

The rules

How this list is written

  • The free option comes first, because most people reading this do not need to buy anything.
  • Every price we state was read from that vendor's own pricing page, and carries the date we read it. Where we have not read a vendor's pricing page ourselves, we do not print a price. We would rather have a gap than a number we cannot stand behind.
  • Where we have not used or read a product properly, we say so and do not describe it. Several tools below appear only as names for that reason. A list that confidently characterises fifteen products its author has never opened is not research.
  • We are last, and we lead our own entry with what we do not do.

1. Meta Ads Manager and the Meta Ad Library

Free. The baseline every paid tool is measured against, and the one almost no roundup mentions first.

Ads Manager already reports, per ad per day, your spend, conversions, purchase value, thruplays, average watch time and the share of viewers who reached 25, 50, 75 and 100 percent of a video. Meta also publishes four free research surfaces: the Ad Library, the Ad Library API, the Ad Library Report and an ad targeting dataset. If nobody has yet told you that your reporting problem is a creative problem, start here and spend nothing.

What it cannot do

It holds no attributes of the creative itself, so it cannot roll performance up by hook, format, angle or awareness stage, and it cannot show you what you have never tried. Every tool below exists to add a layer Meta does not have.

2. Motion

The most complete creative analytics product in this comparison, and the one named in all six roundups we read.

Reads and tags your creative automatically ("pre-watches, tags & analyzes every creative you've run"), reports across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn, ships briefs and hooks, and includes an inspiration and benchmarking layer. Its entry plan carries unlimited seats and unlimited ad accounts, which is the most generous shape here for anyone running more than a couple of accounts.

Note for anyone comparing prices: Motion's own site publishes two different entry prices, $750 on the pricing page and $250 on several blog pages and its LLM Info page. We have used the pricing page.

Price

$750 a month up to $50K of monthly ad spend, $1,200 above that, by quote above $125K. Free trial, no credit card.

3. Foreplay

An ad library and swipe file first, with an analytics product called Lens attached. The cheapest serious option here.

A community ad library it lists at more than 200 million ads, competitor tracking with up to three years of history, boards, a brand brief builder with a script generator, a mobile app and a Chrome extension, across seven platforms. If your problem is finding ideas rather than judging your own results, this is the tool.

Worth labelling accurately: this is a swipe file and brief builder with reporting attached, not a creative analytics product with a library attached. Several roundups blur the two.

Price

$59 a month, or $49 billed annually, rising to $175 and $459 for more users and brands. Their pricing page states there is "no variable pricing based on your ad spend". Seven day trial, no credit card.

4. Atria

The broadest product here: research, a large ad library, asset management, and creative production.

Follows other brands and tags their hooks, angles and personas; stores and searches your own footage down to scenes and clips; and produces concepts, hooks, scripts, copy and images. If you want one tool that goes from research to a finished asset, this is the one in this list that tries hardest.

Price

$129 a month billed annually ($159 monthly) for five ad accounts, five seats and $500K of monthly ad spend, then $479 and $959. There is also a free plan, no credit card.

5. The rest of the category

These appear repeatedly in the roundups we read. We have not read their pricing pages or used them properly, so we are not going to price them or tell you what they are good at. They belong on your shortlist; go and look.

Named in every roundup we read

Madgicx. VidMob.

Named in most

AdCreative.ai. Pencil. CreativeX. Triple Whale. Superads. Marpipe.

Adjacent, and often miscategorised

Smartly and Celtra appear on several creative analytics lists. Our reading is that they sit closer to creative production and media automation, which is a different purchase.

One observation from reading six competing roundups, offered because it is useful and costs us nothing: the tools that publish these lists mostly appear in no list but their own. If a roundup is the only place you have seen a product recommended, that is worth noticing.

Ours, last

6. HypeCrowd

What it does not do

No ad library. No swipe file. No competitor search. It does not produce the creative. It reads Meta only. It is more expensive at entry than both Foreplay and Atria, and it caps at $100K of monthly spend on the entry plan where Foreplay does not cap at all.

What it does

Connects to your own Meta ad account and reads the ads already in it. The ad is broken into segments with the watch line from your account underneath, so you can see which second people left on. Every verdict is measured against the cost per purchase you set, never against other advertisers. It places each ad on an awareness stage, shows a grid of the combinations your account has never run, and keeps a prediction ledger that scores its own past calls.

$199 a month for one ad account up to $100K of monthly spend, $399 for three accounts up to $500K, then per account with no cap. Fourteen day trial, no credit card. Full pricing.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is the best creative analytics tool for Meta ads?

There is no single best one, and any list that says otherwise is selling something. Motion is the most complete creative analytics product here and covers several platforms. Foreplay is the cheapest and is strongest as a swipe file and brief builder. Atria is the broadest and also produces creative. HypeCrowd, which publishes this page, reads only your own Meta account and judges each ad against the target you set.

Do I need one of these at all?

Often not. Meta Ads Manager already reports spend, conversions and video watch milestones per ad, and Meta publishes a free ad library. What Ads Manager cannot do is roll performance up by a property of the creative, because it holds none. That gap is the entire category.

Why is HypeCrowd last on a list published by HypeCrowd?

Because a list whose author puts itself first is not a list. Five of the six competing roundups we read rank their own product at number one and none of them discloses ownership on the page. We would rather you trusted the other five entries.

How current are the prices on this page?

Every price here was read from that vendor's own pricing page on 8 September 2026 and the entry says so. Where we have not read a vendor's pricing page, there is no price. Prices change often in this category, and at least one vendor currently publishes two different entry prices on its own website, so check the source before deciding.

Which tools did you leave out, and why?

We named Madgicx, VidMob, AdCreative.ai, Pencil, CreativeX, Triple Whale, Superads and Marpipe without describing them, because we have not read their pricing pages or used them properly. Describing a product you have not opened is how these lists go wrong.
